Join us live from an expedition in Roatán, Honduras with ocean explorer Emmanuelle Périé-Bardout. Emmanuelle is a French sailor, deep diver and explorer. They’ll be in the heart of the Caribbean, home to marine ecosystems with remarkable biological richness. Their goal is to dive deep to address the lack of scientific knowledge about habitats beyond 60 meters deep. They’ll explore the biodiversity, conservation needed and share what they find with the public.
Trained as a yachtswoman, she embarked on explorer Jean-Louis Étienne’s Clipperton expedition in 2004, before moving on to Svalbard and Norway, where she was first mate on Olivier Pitras’s polar sailing boat. For the past 15 years, she and her husband Ghislain Bardout have been leading the Under The Pole expeditions, which have taken them to the Geographic North Pole, two years in Greenland with their yacht wintering in the ice, through the Northwest Passage and to Svalbard.
