Dive into History

We offer a virtual adventure that will allow your students to discover the treasures of the Restigouche River, home to one of the most important underwater archaeological sites in Canada. Through the captivating story of the last naval battle for possession of New France (1760), students will learn how Parks Canada underwater archaeologists unearthed amazing artifacts such as a cannon, part of a ship’s hull, and a host of everyday objects from the period. Through this impressive collection, students will gain a better understanding of life aboard 18th  century French ships and the history of the fall of New France.
