World’s Most Exciting Classrooms Episode 073: Sailing for South Georgia

Description

World’s Most Exciting Classrooms Episode 073: Sailing for South Georgia

After crossing the Pacific and a stop in the Falklands, the Oosterschelde will now be setting her sights on the Atlantic Ocean, making a crossing to Cape Town, South Africa. Along the way, we’ll be making stops in South Georgia and if the conditions allow, Tristan da Cunha, the most remote populated island in the world!

In this week’s episode of the World’s Most Exciting Classroom:

-We’ll have an update from the ship and hopefully some cool clips of Falklands wildlife to share!

-Joining us will be Rosa Vásquez Espinoza, Peruvian chemical biologist, National Geographic Explorer, and award-winning artist. She’s spent years studying the boiling river in the Peruvian Amazon and in May 2025 she will be releasing her first book “The Spirit of the Rainforest: how indigenous wisdom and scientific curiosity reconnect us to the natural world”.

-If time allows, we have a special clip from the Ocean Exploration Trust at the National Aquarium in Plymouth exploring the seagrass ecostystem.
