Understanding South Africa’s Southern Right Whale Population

Join Loraine as she works to better understand the behaviour and biology of South Africa’s southern right whales. She’s a zoology researcher who completed her Master’s degree in Zoology at the University of Pretoria’s Mammal Research Institute Whale Unit and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. Her research revolves around understanding the biology of the southern right whale population of South Africa and how they’re impacted by environmental changes. Loraine actively participates in boat-based research expeditions along the South African coast to collect crucial data for conservation efforts.
