Samantha is pursuing her PhD in Biological Anthropology at Boston University, where she studies the immune health of wild Bornean orangutans. More specifically, she is interested in understanding how human impacts affect the health of orangutans. To accomplish this, Samantha travels to Gunung Palung National Park, Indonesia, where she collects and analyzes behavioral data and urine and fecal samples. Samantha will take you on her most recent expedition to Borneo and share why her research is important for the conservation of this critically endangered species.
