After 25 years of making documentary films about science and nature, the United Nations invited Mark Terry to present his latest film on Antarctica to its climate summit in Copenhagen in 2009. This led to the opportunity to create a film program for youth so they may participate in a meaningful way with the creation of global climate policy. Since then, Mark has around the world to help youth create their videos, including remote regions to work with Indigenous youth.
The Youth Climate Report, is a digital database of short films made by the global community of youth. With more than 1,000 films from 154 countries on all seven continents, documentary shorts (3 to 5 minutes) made by students about climate research, impacts, and solutions are making a direct contribution to global climate policy. This presentation will show you how you can participate in this program and make a difference in the world.
