Description

Join Hearts in the Ice Live from a Wilderness Camp in Cambridge Bay, Nunavut

Join us for a special live discussion from Cambirdge Bay, Nunavut with:

-Polar explorers and climate ambassadors Sunniva Sorby and Hilde Fålun Strøm from Hearts in the Ice.

-Elder Wedlidi Speck from Comox, British Columbia.

-Elders Harry and Mary Rose Maksagak from Cambridge Bay.

-Some youth from the Cambridge Bay community.

Hearts in the Ice (HITI) is excited to announce the upcoming Elder-led Youth Survival Camp IQ, set to take place July 30-early August 2024. This groundbreaking initiative is to help bridge the gap between Elders and youth to help the transfer of invaluable traditional knowledge to the next generation. By aligning this transfer with practical training in modern scientific and multimedia disciplines, the project equips our youth with the skills, knowledge, and abilities to thrive in a changing environment. Hosted in a Location called Foggy Bay the camp aims to foster leadership, and build confidence by integrating modern technology with the timeless wisdom of respected Elders.
