Jack Hostrawser had no idea what he would be when he grew up. From milking cows and driving tractors to studying English and writing essays, to working with astronauts in a meteor crater near the artic, he’s learned a lot about how to choose directions when you don’t have a map. Today he is a planetary scientist whose research ranges from mapping the Moon using satellite-imagery datasets, to analyzing Moon rocks (and Moon analogues) in the laboratory, to geological fieldwork and sample collection in remote places. Jack will talk about lunar science, how he connects the different paths he’s explored, and how to find your way to what matters to you when you have no idea where you’re going.
