Exploring Our Oceans With Arzucan Askin

Arzucan “Zuzu” Askin is a Turkish-German National Geographic Explorer, Rolex Scholar and marine conservation scientist. Her journey has taken her across the globe, from the monitoring of coral reef health in the waters of Hong Kong, documenting coastal climate resilience in Cuba, ghost gear removal from wrecks in Turkey, all the way to sailing Arctic waters in search for blue whales and exploring deep sea ecosystems in the Maldives in collaboration with the National Geographic Exploration Technology Lab. Currently she works across multiple projects as the Co-Founder of the Miyaru – Shark Programme, Expedition Leader for the Anthroposea Initiative, Creative Director of Sunfish Studio and Science Communications Lead for Kogia.
