Experiments in the Quantum Realm

Description

Experiments in the Quantum Realm

Join Dr. John Donohue, Scientific Outreach Manager at the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo for some fun physics experiments!

Quantum science helps us understand what happens below what a microscope can see, describing the world of atoms, electrons, photons, and more. It’s also behind many of today’s technologies, including lasers and GPS, and technologies of the future like quantum computers. In celebration of the UN’s International Year of Quantum Science & Technology, join Dr. John Donohue from the Institute for Quantum Computing at the University of Waterloo to explore quantum science and applications, and see demonstrations of how behaviour at the smallest scales can be both strange and useful.
