Meet Yagmur Dalal, Irmak Zalal, Avjin Aktop and Damla Zerya Aslan, they are part of a team that was one of last year’s finalists for The Earth Prize. They created Delavo, a plan to take dirty water from washing machines and to repeatedly recycle it and reuse it.
The Earth Prize is the world’s largest environmental competition and ‘ideas incubator’ for young people, empowering 13-19 year olds with mentorship and $100K funding. Since 2021, the prize has reached over 10,000 young people, across 154 countries and territories, having awarded $500K (and counting) so far to the top teams.
Dig Deeper: Plastic microfibres come off clothes in the washing machine and enter our waterways. About how many plastic microfibres are produced with each wash and what can we do at home to reduce the impact?
EBTSOYP Daily Dives take students on a trip to the frontlines of science, exploration, conservation, and adventure to learn about the newest discoveries, conservation stories, expeditions, and more.
