Daily Dive # 071 | Combating Saltwater Intrusion on the Mississippi River

Meet John Callahan, he’s a climate scientist at the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration’s center for operational oceanographic products and services. With climate change impacts like drought and rising sea levels, salt water is intruding further than ever into the Mississippi River, putting drinking water of cities along it’s shores at risk.

Dig Deeper: Low water levels in the Mississippi River will impact humans and wildlife. Can you find some ways that humans will be impacted and some ways that wildlife will be?
