Meet Charli Grimes, she’s an animal behavior scientist at the Center for Whale Research at the UK’s University of Exeter. She’s studying why orca mothers live so long after their reproductive years, something that is very unusual in the animal kingdom.

Dig Deeper: Orca groups around the world specialize on different types prey. What do the Southern Resident pods eat, what do orcas around Alaska eat? How about orcas in Norway? What about orcas in Antarctica?
