Meet Alberto Collareta, he’s a palaeontologist at the University of Pisa. He’s part of a team that excavated a whale ancestor in the Peruvian desert that could be the heaviest animal to have existed!

Dig Deeper: Perucetus Colossus shares many similarities with modern day manatees and dugongs. Do some research and create a chart to show the similarities and differences between manatees and dugongs.
