Daily Dive # 033 | Diving Deep with ROVs in Arctic Svalbard

Meet Andreas B. Heide and the crew of the Arctic Sense Expedition. They are on the 37 foot sailing vessel Barba, sailing into the Arctic, collecting important information about our changing planet. In June, they left Norway and headed towards the dangerous waters around Svalbard. In total, they will cover over 2,000 nautical miles on this expedition. Now they are using a remote operated vehicle (ROV) named Leonard and diving beneath the Arctic ice to unveil the mysterious world 200m below the ice.

Dig Deeper: Sea ice coverage is disappearing from the Arctic Ocean at an alarming rate. Research the importance of sea ice and record 3 important things it does.
