Meet Beth Shapiro, an evolutionary molecular biologist and professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology at the University of California. She’s working on bringing back versions of extinct animals, like the dodo, to benefit current ecosystems and to develop new conservation technologies to protect species that are still here.
