Characterizing Alien Worlds with James Webb Space Telescope

Description

Characterizing Alien Worlds with James Webb Space Telescope

Join astronomer and National Geographic Explorer Munazza Alam to explore beyond our Solar System!

In the past two decades, we have discovered thousands of planets outside of the Solar System, many of which are nothing like our own. With the recently launched James Webb Space Telescope, we are at the onset of a revolution in our understanding of exoplanets as we begin to measure the atmospheres of planets ranging from large Jupiter-like worlds to smaller Earth-like planets elsewhere in the universe. These efforts bring us closer to answering one of the oldest questions humanity has ever posed to the Cosmos: “are we alone?”
