Join Ricardo as he shares some of his adventures filming in the ocean environment, including his recent efforts to uncover why orcas have been ‘attacking’ ships around the Strait of Gibraltar. Recently, several orcas have taken to damaging the rudders on small ships and even sinking some of them! Are they playing, do they see the boats as a threat?
Ricardo is a cinematographer specializing in underwater cinematography & photography. Based in Lisbon (Portugal), Ricardo’s prime focus is mainly on action & adventure sports. Determined to pursue a career in filmmaking, Ricardo combined the knowledge he acquired through his formal education in Mechanical Engineering with various elements of motion-picture cinematography to achieve superior images in defying ocean conditions. Currently, Ricardo is operating as the director of photography on several feature-length documentaries, short artistic projects as well as branded content for global brands like Red Bull.
