Linda Welzenbach is a planetary scientist and science writer at Rice University. In her former life as Meteorite Collections Manager at the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Natural History, she collected and classified thousands of meteorites from Antarctica. From two deployments to the ‘Ice’, she will share what it’s like to explore and live in places that few, if any, humans have ever been. She will explain why anyone would endure such hardships in service to the science and what these puzzling relicts from the birth of our solar system tell us about the origin of Earth, the Moon, Mars and more!
